13th April 2012 - The Horseshoe of The River Severn

Andrea and Julie at Fretherne Swing Bridge after completing our walk around the Horseshoe of the Rivern Severn, in approx 5 hours or so give or take. Mother Nature at her finest once again. Lots of bird life - Chiff Chaff's, various Gulls, Swans, a pair of Heron, many Larks (how lovely to hear them in great abundance), Ducks, Green-finches, Warblers and the two highlights of our walk a Peregrine Falcon and a Wheatear (its name a derivation of 'white arse' - which it certainly did have)! Of course many beautiful Spring flowers including Celandines, Blue Bells, Cuckoo Flowers, Wood Anemones, Violets, and blossoming Blackthorn. We already looking forward to the next leg of our walk sometime in May - Fretherne Swing Bridge to Sharpness.
