How very strange! Julie and I had both harbored the ambition of walking the coast of Britain in our psyches for years, but for some reason we had never discussed it at any length with each other. But now we were talking about it, we were both buoyed along by our excitement and we knew it would not be long before our dreams became reality. Various commitments meant it would not be possible for us to complete this gigantic walk all in one go, as so many have done. But rather, we would have to take it in stages, probably several walks per month, but most importantly, as Julie put it 'when the mood takes me'. In conversation with other friends and colleagues, it became apparent that others also shared our dream, and they asked to be informed of our plans, in the hope that they too might be able to join us!
